Satellite Region:
If agents are located in Singapore, which is a satellite region for Genesys Cloud, they would log into a core region based on the organization’s deployment.

The most likely core regions for agents in Singapore would be one of the following:
1. Asia Pacific (Sydney) – ap-southeast-2
2. Asia Pacific (Tokyo) – ap-northeast-1
3. Asia Pacific (Mumbai) – ap-south-1
These core regions are geographically close to Singapore and typically selected for organizations operating in the Asia-Pacific region. The exact core region depends on where the organization has chosen to deploy its main services.
While Singapore handles media traffic locally via its satellite region to minimize latency, the login and platform services would be handled by the designated core region .
A Satellite region cannot act as Primary Genesys Cloud CX Deployment.
When a Genesys Cloud CX organization uses Global Media Fabric, satellite regions handle media services, including storing call recordings. These satellite regions also create extra locations for call and audio routes, helping to reduce delays and improve call quality.
Satellite Region will not have login URL.
To meet regulatory purposes or when the core region is not available for the customer location. Recordings can be saved in Satellite Regions.
